What do recruitment agencies do?

Recruitment agencies work for both clients and candidates. Simply put, clients come to us with job vacancies they want to be filled, we will then post a job vacancy through various tools such LinkedIn, job boards and our own site. We then start searching our database of candidates to come up with the perfect shortlist! We then pre-screen the candidates, prep them and put them forward for an interview with the employer.

Are recruitment agencies free?

No candidate should ever be charged to use a recruitment agency. Employers pay for a recruitment agency to find them a suitable candidate for a role but this should never be at the expense of the job seeker. We would advise any candidates to stay clear of any third party who wants to charge a fee to look for work on a candidate’s behalf.

What are the benefits of registering with an agency?

Finding a job through a recruitment agency has a lot of advantages. When you are job hunting it is important that you spread your search as widely as possible to ensure you are utilising all the different opportunities available.

Equally if you are a hiring manager or an internal recruiter, using a recruitment agency is quicker than hiring internally and will save your business time and money. Recruitment Consultants collect and assess CVs, check references, and filter talented job seekers using the best interview techniques, so businesses don’t have to!

MARS Recruitment is a highly reputable, customer focused recruitment consultancy with an array of expertise at our disposal. We have in-depth market knowledge and fantastic network relations meaning we are often aware of vacancies that are not advertised, providing more opportunities for you. We also manage your application and will liaise with the client on your behalf. We can also give FREE CV feedback, interview advice and negotiate salaries at offer stage!

Can I apply for more than one position?

Of course! You can apply and be put forward for as many roles as we or your chosen agency consider you suitable for. If you get an offer from more than one client, then the decision will be yours as to which one you accept!

Will you send my CV to clients without contacting me?

No, never. A good recruiter would never send your CV without your consent or before getting to know you first. The Data Protection Act of 1998 guarantees the security of your personal data, and provides you with legal remedies if your privacy is not respected.

MARS Recruitment only present a candidate’s details to a client after we have spoken to you about the vacancy, the company and received your permission to do so.

Are Recruitment agencies regulated?

All recruitment agencies are regulated under the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.
