General Data Protection Regulation Policy

We are a highly specialised consultancy working within niche areas of the Engineering, IT & Business Support sectors with a widely respected reputation.

Data protection and privacy is really important to us so we wanted to take the opportunity to outline our genuine concern that everything we do is treated with the respect that we would want our data treated.

We have reviewed our current data collection and retention policy in line with GDPR and believe the following will provide an overview of what we promise to deliver. If you are a client or supplier then we will most likely have your data stored in a number of places for the purposes of invoicing, paying bills and delivering projects.

This page relates specifically to the candidates details we keep on our database.

We have collected candidate’s details through a variety of methods over the years but primarily the collection has been through direct applications, adverts, social media, headhunting, exhibitions and through highly specialised jobsites we have used both currently and in the past.

These details are kept on secure servers and also within a secure encrypted CRM database.

Whilst many generalists may choose to delete or remove data after a set period of time we have at this point chosen not to do so as the specialist nature of our business means candidates will often remain candidates or even become clients over a greater period of time and on occasion also revert back to candidates through their working lifetime. It’s just the nature of our industry.

We do however accept that after a continued period of no contact then those details are deleted as a matter of course to both refresh our database and maintain its accuracy in the future.

In all cases our aim is to ensure it’s clear to you that if you are opting to remain on the database, you will have given your consent for us to contact you regarding job opportunities and with your permission use your data for those purposes. We will not share your data with any third parties unless we are obliged to disclose data by law, or the disclosure is felt necessary for purposes of national security, criminal activities or avoidance of taxation, or we have your consent to do so.

At all times you have the right to see the personal data we have on file about you. The information is available on request so please contact us for more information on obtaining your file. Should you wish for your data to be removed from our records then again please email requesting this.

Our intention is to keep you aware of job opportunities which arise and we believe on the data we hold and should be of interest to you. At all times we simply wish to work closely with you in order to achieve the ultimate goal of securing new employment for you.

From May 2018, our initial policy is to retain data for ten years, believing that if we have not made appropriate and measured contact with you over that period then we will delete your record from our database. This period is longer than others but is in our opinion a reflection of our niche sector and how intricate we have observed career paths of those we have supported.
